You made me laugh very much! – but goodness, isn’t your 3rd haiku just a pearl! All the create quite a mood, with different edhes, and finished with such beauty
Thanks Pirate for your very kind words! They make me so happy 🙂
I find myself counting all the time now. Love the counting ones. and agree with Hamish on the last one.
Thanks Janice 🙂
Yes, those first two made me smile too – clever idea!
Thanks Jackie 🙂
Birgitta, you asked in the comments on Carpe Diem how the English count syllables but we count them in exactly the same way as the Dutch or Swedish and your haiku fit the pattern perfectly. We don’t have some “free” way of counting – each distinct sound is a syllable. Kristjaan unfortunately is using a computerised syllable counter that is getting it wrong, so his 3/5/3 and 5/7/5 haiku weren’t actually right. So just keep doing what you’re doing!
Thanks a lot Jackie – now I don’t have to wonder about it any longer. Appreciate your comment a lot 🙂
Liker dem og må jo si at den siste er ubetalelig.
Ha en fin dag. 🙂
Tack Mormor! Blir så glad av din kommentar 🙂
This is a poetic form called transliteration which I find irresistible.
Like em or not, josi and her sister are uber mensch
Ha Fin’s a dag:)
Wonderful responses Birgitta … counting isn’t wrong … these haiku are really beautiful and that third haiku is just stunning.
Thanks! Your comment makes me very happy 🙂
It’s my pleasure Birgitta
